Poimen

Support

Help with the Poimen app for First Love Church leaders.

Poimen is used by leaders of First Love Church to record attendance, keep member details up to date and follow up with the people in their care. It is not a public app: you need an account created for you by your church administrator.

If the answers below do not solve it, email us and we will come back to you within 3 working days.

It helps enormously if you include your username, what you were trying to do, and what you saw instead. A screenshot is worth several paragraphs.

I cannot sign in

Almost every sign-in problem is one of three things, and the app cannot tell them apart: it simply says the username and password do not match.

Your username may not be what you expect

Usernames follow the pattern firstname.lastname, all lowercase, with a full stop between. If your name was recorded with a different spelling when your account was made, and corrected later, the username changed with it. Someone typing the name they were originally given will be turned away every time, and it looks exactly like a broken app.

If you are unsure, ask your administrator to read your username back to you rather than guessing at it.

Your password may have been reset without you knowing

Administrators can reset passwords. When they do, a new one is generated and it is not the one you had. If someone has been tidying up accounts, yours may have changed since you last signed in successfully.

Capitals and spaces

Passwords are case sensitive. Phone keyboards like to capitalise the first letter of anything you type and to add a space after it, and both will stop a correct password from working. Tap the eye icon to see what you have actually typed.

I have forgotten my password

There is no self-service reset in the app. Ask your church administrator to reset it, and they will give you a new one. Change it to something only you know once you are in.

Attendance will not submit

Photographs will not upload

The app asks for permission to use your camera and photo library the first time you try. If you declined, iOS and Android will not ask again, and the app cannot explain why nothing happens. Turn it back on in your phone's settings, under Poimen.

What the app can see on my phone

The app asks for four things, and only ever when you use the feature that needs them:

Camera and photosTo attach a photograph to an attendance record or a visit.
LocationTo show which bacentas are nearest you. Only while the app is open.
ContactsOnly if you choose to import someone into your own follow-up list. Your contacts are never uploaded wholesale.
NotificationsReminders about attendance, prayer and visits.

You can refuse or withdraw any of these in your phone's settings. The rest of the app carries on working.

Deleting your account

Your Poimen account belongs to your church rather than to you personally, so ask your administrator, or email us at londonfldata@gmail.com. What happens to the member records you can see is covered in the privacy notice, which also explains your rights over your own data.

Reporting something urgent

If you believe member information has been seen by someone who should not have seen it, or an account is being used by the wrong person, please say so in the subject line and we will treat it as urgent rather than waiting for the normal 3 working days.
